Educational visits by appointment...

We offer an educational day out for school children which meets with the KS2 curriculum.

Other educational visits for groups and organisations can be arranged to suit requirements.

An example of a typical school visit is as follows :-

1 - School arrives at the beginning of the day (time to suit)

2 - Children are given a brief talk on the history of R.A.F. Harrowbeer

3 - Class is split into small groups to follow a carousel of learning bases, incl. gas masks, rationing, air raid shelters, etc.

4 - Lunchtime

5 - A walk around part of the old airfield visiting areas of interest ( approx. one hour ) depending on weather

6 - Departure back to school at approx. 2.30pm

Some of the day is spent outside, so children should be dressed in appropriate clothing to suit weather conditions (e.g. waterproofs, warm layers, sun hat/lotion etc.)

This is Dartmoor and can be very cold and wet!
